Meditation – Sufi Healing

Sufi Meditation/Sufi healing (for Muslims and non-Muslims: this technique is not tied to a faith).

Sufi healing is a spiritual practice rooted in Sufism, a mystical branch of Islam. It integrates various methods to achieve physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Here are some of the Sufi healing techniques. We will discuss these techniques in the course and carry them out together:

Dhikr/Zikr (Remembrance – Meditative exercise to “remember” our divine connection)

Dhikr involves the repetitive chanting of divine names or phrases, such as “La ilaha illallah” (There is no god but Allah) or “Allah” alone. This practice helps purify the heart and mind, fostering a deep connection with the divine and promoting inner peace.

Meditation (Muraqaba)

Muraqaba is a form of meditation where the practitioner focuses inwardly to attain self-awareness and divine connection. It involves sitting quietly, focusing on one’s breath or a particular thought, and allowing the mind to connect deeply with the divine presence.

Prayers (Duas)

Special prayers and supplications are recited for healing. These prayers often involve asking for divine intervention and blessings for health and well-being. They can be personalized or taken from Sufi texts. It involves the 99 names of “The One” and its use in healing. We create ‘recipes’ with the 99 names for practical application

Energy Healing

We show the practice of Sufi energy healing, and use our hands to channel divine energy into the patient’s body. This practice, similar to Reiki, aims to balance the body’s energy centers (chakras) and promote physical and emotional healing.
